A packaging plant converts paper, board or film into customer-specific packs through corrugation, printing, lamination, slitting and die-cutting. Each machine has its own make-ready waste and running waste, and each order has its own size, print and quantity. The costing assumed a consumption per thousand; the plant needs to know, order by order, what it actually used.
