Software for Transformer Radiator Manufacturing
Sheet-fed fin and panel fabrication supplied to transformer OEMs, where every batch has to prove it does not leak.
A radiator is made from pressed fins seam-welded into panels and assembled to a header, against a drawing the customer owns. The economics sit in two places: sheet consumption per panel, which is set by nesting and press settings, and the leak test, because a panel that fails after painting has consumed everything except its own value.
What gets in the way
- Sheet consumption per panel is assumed from the drawing rather than measured
- Fin height and panel count vary per customer drawing and are tracked on paper
- Leak-test results are filed by date, so a batch cannot be evidenced later
- Rework after a failed test is absorbed into general production cost
- Painting and galvanising sent outside is not reconciled against issue
- Customer drawing revisions arrive without the build being re-checked against them
What the software handles
- Customer drawing and revision captured against the order
- Sheet issued against a nesting plan, consumption recorded per batch
- Fin pressing and seam welding recorded by batch and operator
- Leak test result recorded against the batch and retained
- Painting or galvanising job work issued and received with reconciliation
- Dispatch with test certificate, challan and e-Way Bill
What changes
- Sheet cost per panel measured against the nesting plan
- Test evidence retrievable by batch when a customer asks
- Rework cost attributable to the stage that caused it
- Builds checked against the drawing revision in force
