We connect business events in your system to Zapier's catalogue of applications.
Zapier connects to a very large number of online applications. Once your business system can send events to Zapier and accept actions from it, your team can link it to tools such as email marketing, chat, forms or spreadsheets themselves, without a developer for every small connection.
What we build with it
- Triggering actions in other apps on a business event
- Multi-step automation across services
- No-code workflow building
How it works
- In Zapier, a Zap is created with a webhook trigger, and its URL is registered in your system for chosen events.
- When an event occurs, such as a new customer, the system sends the details to Zapier.
- Zapier runs the Zap's steps, such as adding the customer to a mailing list or posting a message to a chat channel.
- Where a Zap needs to create or update something in the business system, it calls the system's API with a scoped credential.
Data exchanged
- Event payloads sent to Zapier
- Actions performed in connected applications
What is needed to set it up
- A Zapier account
- Webhook or API credentials configured
- Zaps built in Zapier
Good to know
- Zapier charges by the number of tasks run, on your own Zapier plan. Busy events can use up a plan quickly, so we help you choose which events to send.
- Data passes through Zapier's servers, so sensitive data may be better handled by a direct integration or a self-hosted tool.
- Some features, such as multi-step Zaps and webhooks, depend on your Zapier plan.
