How it works
- We set up the environment in your AWS account — network, servers or managed services, database and storage — in the region you choose.
- The application is deployed there, with separate access roles for the application, administrators and backups.
- Documents are stored in object storage with access controlled by the application.
- Automated backups run on a schedule and are kept for an agreed period, and monitoring alerts on errors and resource limits.

What is needed to set it up

Good to know
- AWS bills your account by usage. Costs depend on the services and sizes chosen, and budget alerts can warn you before bills grow.
- Security is shared: AWS secures the underlying platform, while the configuration of your account and application must be secured by you and your developers.
- Backups are only useful if restores work, so restores should be tested periodically.
