We connect an invoice in your system to a hosted payment page at your chosen gateway, reached through a simple link.
Customers rarely log in to a portal to pay. A link in a WhatsApp message or email, opening a page with the amount already filled in, is the shortest path from invoice to payment. When the payment completes, the system knows which invoice it was for.
What we build with it
- Sending a pay-now link over WhatsApp, SMS or email
- Following up an overdue invoice with a link
- Collecting advance payments
How it works
- An invoice is saved, or a user chooses to request an advance.
- The system asks your gateway to create a payment link for the amount, with the invoice number as reference and an expiry date.
- The link is sent to the customer on the channel you choose, and reminders can include the same link.
- The customer pays on the gateway's page, the gateway notifies the system, and the invoice is marked paid.
Data exchanged
- Invoice reference and amount
- Customer contact details
- Payment status on completion
What is needed to set it up
- An active gateway account that supports hosted links
- Link expiry and partial-payment rules agreed
Good to know
- The gateway's usual transaction fees apply to link payments, charged on your own merchant account.
- Expired or cancelled links cannot be paid, so a new link is issued automatically if the invoice changes.
- Customers should be told which links to expect from you, because fake payment links are a common scam.
