We connect the location of staff mobile devices to attendance records in your system, with a geofence check at each site.
Sales representatives, technicians and site supervisors rarely pass a biometric device. Paper registers and phone calls are hard to verify. A mobile check-in that records the time and location, and confirms the employee was at an approved site, gives field teams a fair and verifiable way to mark attendance and log visits.
What we build with it
- Field staff marking attendance at a site
- Geofenced check-in at customer premises
- Visit logging with location
- A photo capture with check-in where required
How it works
- Sites such as offices, stores or customer premises are defined with a location and a radius.
- The employee opens the app and taps check-in; the app reads the phone's current location.
- The system compares the location with the permitted sites and records the check-in as inside or outside the geofence.
- Check-ins outside a geofence can be allowed with a reason and sent to a manager for approval.
- Check-out follows the same steps, and the day's record feeds attendance and payroll.
Data exchanged
- Employee identifier
- Timestamp
- Latitude and longitude
- Geofence match result
What is needed to set it up
- A mobile application on staff devices
- Location permission granted by the employee
- Geofences defined for valid sites
Good to know
- Phone location is less accurate indoors and in dense areas, so geofence sizes should allow some margin.
- Location is captured at check-in and check-out only, unless continuous tracking is specifically agreed and explained to staff.
- The app can detect some common location-faking tools, though no method catches every case.
