We connect customer and supplier records in your system to Google Contacts.

Sales and field staff often keep customer numbers on their phones, and those lists drift away from the master records. Syncing business contacts into Google Contacts means a caller's name shows up on the phone, and a corrected number in the system reaches everyone.

What we build with it

  • Syncing customer contact details
  • Making business contacts available on staff phones
  • Keeping a labelled group of contacts per team or territory

How it works

  1. A contact is created or edited in the system.
  2. The system writes the change to Google Contacts in a dedicated contact group or label.
  3. Staff phones signed in to that Google account pick up the contact through Google's normal sync.
  4. When a contact is archived in the system, it can be removed from the group so old numbers do not linger.

Data exchanged

  • Name
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Company name

What is needed to set it up

  • A Google account
  • OAuth authorisation
  • A contact group to sync into

Good to know

  • We normally sync one way, from the system to Google, so the business system stays the master record.
  • Contacts synced to a personal phone are personal data. Decide which contacts staff really need, and remove access when someone leaves.
  • Google Workspace administrators can also share a directory of contacts across the organisation, which may suit larger teams.
