We connect scheduled records in your system to Apple Calendar, using CalDAV or a subscribed calendar feed.
Staff and clients who live on iPhone and Mac check Apple Calendar, not a web portal. Putting their appointments and deadlines there means reminders arrive on the devices they carry, with no extra app to install.
What we build with it
- Appointments on a user's Apple devices
- Deadline and reminder publication
- A personal calendar feed per user showing only their own commitments
How it works
- The user either connects their iCloud calendar or subscribes to a personal feed link generated by the system.
- When appointments are created or changed, the system writes them to the iCloud calendar over CalDAV, or updates the feed.
- Apple Calendar shows the events on every device signed in to that Apple ID.
- Cancelled records are removed from the calendar on the next sync.
Data exchanged
- Event title and description
- Start and end time
- Reminder settings
What is needed to set it up
- An iCloud account
- An app-specific password for CalDAV access, or a subscription to the system's feed
- Target calendar selection
Good to know
- Apple does not offer a full calendar API like Google or Microsoft. CalDAV with an app-specific password is the supported route for writing events.
- A subscribed feed is read-only and simpler to set up, but Apple Calendar decides how often it refreshes, so changes may appear after a delay.
- Feed links should be treated like passwords, because anyone with the link can see the events.
